Mariners are advised that from today’s date, surveyors Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys will be undertaking a high-resolution bathymetric and geophysical surveys of Loch Leodamais, Port Ellen, Isle of Islay and other seaward areas in the vicinity of the ferry terminal pier.

The work is still expected to be completed within 4-days and will be undertaken from survey vessel Coastal Sensor II.

Communication will be maintained with CalMac Ferries Ltd, and others as required via VHF radio throughout all survey works. Surveys in the vicinity of the pier will be completed between sailings of the scheduled ferry services to avoid any disruption.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Loch Leodamais during this time are requested to maintain a lookout for the survey vessel and pass at a safe distance and speed to minimise the effects of wash on the vessel.
