Complete NTM 47/21

Mariners are advised of an alteration to the purpose and position of the undernoted special mark buoy established to the east of Brodick Ferry Terminal Pier, Isle of Arran.

The previous details of the buoy were as follows.

Name: Isle of Arran. Brodick East Shoal Special Mark.
AtoN No.: 4336.4B
Latitude: 55o 34.646’ North               (WGS-84 datum)
Longitude: 005o 08.056’ West              (WGS-84 datum)
Character of Light: Fl. Y. 5s
Range: 2 nautical miles

The original purpose of the buoy was to indicate to ferry master’s berthing on the east side of Brodick Ferry Terminal Pier, the position of the edge of the dredge pocket created during construction of the pier. Following review and re-assessment it is considered this buoy is no longer necessary for safe navigation and hence an alteration to the statutory sanction has been granted to rename and reposition the buoy for another purpose.

As of 13 June 2021, it has now been disestablished from the position listed above to be permanently established at the following position.

Name:
Isle of Arran. Brodick. Environmental Monitoring Buoy
AtoN No.: 4336.4B
Latitude:
55 o 34.644’ North              (WGS-84 datum)
Longitude:
005 o 07.631’ West              (WGS-84 datum)
Character of Light: Fl. Y. 5s
Range: 2 nautical miles
