CMAL donates over £2000 to local charities
CMAL has made two donations each of £1,055 to the Inverclyde Foodbank and the Port Glasgow Pantry.
The donation were made possible by fundraising efforts from the CMAL team throughout 2022, including The Great CMAL Bake Off, charity raffle, football sweepstake, secret santa, Christmas jumper day, and surplus IT donations.
Lisa Kerr from Inverclyde Foodbank said:
“This donation will allow us to service the clients with dignity and respect, providing them with the relevant food supplies that we trust and pray will help them through a difficult time in their lives.”
In addition to fundraising efforts, CMAL employees supported the Ocean Youth Trust with volunteering days where they assisted with dry-docking.
Chris Kane, Executive Assistant at CMAL said:
“CMAL is based at the heart of Port Glasgow, and we share a building with the local library, meaning we spend a lot of time in the local community. The cost of living is affecting everyone at the moment—and while nobody should have to use foodbanks, we are proud to focus our fundraising and volunteering efforts around local foodbanks and initiatives to support the Port Glasgow and Inverclyde community.”
