With reference to NTM 85/21, mariners are advised that works to remove three temporary piles and fendering from the new pier under construction at Tarbert Ferry Terminal Pier, East Loch Tarbert, Isle of Harris cannot be wholly completed at this time and supporting concrete foundation blocks remain on the seabed adjacent to the pier within the linkspan berth area.
As the blocks stand above the surrounding seabed mariners are advised with immediate effect a temporary maximum draught restriction of 3.3m has been implemented for any vessels using the pier linkspan berth. This will provide a UKC of 1.0m over the foundation blocks.
Works to remove the blocks are scheduled to recommence in January 2022 and once completed an NTM update will be issued.
Mariners are reminded that during the entire period of port reconstruction the ferry terminal pier remains open to only the scheduled ferry and remains closed to all other unauthorised vessels.
