NTM 64/20 OUTER HEBRIDES FERRY TERMINALS LINKSPAN INSPECTIONS

Mariners are advised that weather permitting condition surveys of linkspans and supporting structures will be undertaken at the undernoted locations on the following dates.

Castlebay Ferry Terminal, Isle of Barra                                       03/11/20

Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal, South Uist                                      04/11/20

Tarbert (Harris) Ferry Terminal, Isle of Harris                               05/11/20

Engineers will be operating from the linkspan and a small workboat that at times may be out of sight beneath the structure. The workboat coxswain will liaise with the Harbour Manager, and ferry Masters to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services. VHF channel 16 will also be monitored and the inspection is scheduled to be completed within one day.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of the above locations on the dates indicated are advised to maintain a look-out for the workboat, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
