Complete 47/14

Mariners are advised that works to repair fendering at Tiree Ferry Terminal Pier will commence today, Tuesday 22nd July 2014.

Contractors Aberdeen Marine Ltd will be operating from the pier deck with a small safety boat in attendance and works are anticipated to be completed within 21 days. During this time there will be a need to use divers to assist in the works.

At all times during the dive project operational working areas will be appropriately marked using Flag A “Diving Operations” and there are no planned operations to be undertaken during the hours of darkness.

The contractor’s supervisor will monitor VHF Channel 16 and liaise with the Port Manager and Masters of the CalMac Ferries to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Tiree Ferry Terminal must do so with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly. Vessels are also advised, with the exception of ferry movements, Tiree Ferry Terminal pier will be closed to all vessel access while diving operations are on-going.
