Mariners are advised that dive contractors Lochs Diving Services Ltd will be undertaking surface and diving operations to lay and connect an outfall pipe to the seabed from a position on the south shore opposite Tarbert (Harris) Ferry Terminal.

The dive project will commence on or about Monday 16th March 2015 and is programmed to last approximately 3-days.

Lochs Diving Services Ltd will be operating from the workboat Orca II which will be moored fore and aft on site. In attendance will also be a small safety boat. At all times operational working areas will be appropriately marked using Flag A “Diving Operations”.

The dive supervisor will ensure VHF channel 16 is monitored and will liaise with the CalMac Ferries Ltd port supervisor to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services.

With the exception of the CalMac ferry which will continue to operate to schedule from the ferry terminal linkspan berth, all vessels navigating East Loch Tarbert in the vicinity of the southern shore opposite the ferry terminal are advised to exercise vigilance and pass at minimum safe manoeuvring speed and not less than 30m distance from moored position of Orca II to reduce the risk of damage or injury being caused by the passing vessel’s wash or displacement.

Skippers of all vessels intending to navigate this section of loch are advised to contact the dive supervisor in good time to allow for the diver to exit the water if required which will be confirmed by the lowering of Flag A.
