BATHYMETRIC SURVEY

 

Mariners are advised that from 1 March 2023, surveyors Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys will be undertaking a high-resolution bathymetric survey of Kilnaughton Bay and Loch Leodamais, Port Ellen, Isle of Islay.

The work is still expected to be completed within two weeks and will be undertaken from survey vessel Marine Sensor.

 

 

 

Communication will be maintained with CalMac Ferries Ltd, and others as required via VHF radio throughout all survey works. Surveys will be completed between sailings of the scheduled ferry services to avoid any disruption.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Kilnaughton Bay and Loch Leodamais during this time are requested to maintain a lookout for the survey vessel and pass at a safe distance and speed to minimise the effects of wash on the vessel.
