Mariners are advised that an inspection of the linkspan at Gourock Ferry Terminal, Firth of Clyde will be undertaken on Sunday 5th March.
CMAL’s consulting engineers CH2M & contractor Alchemy Plant will be operating both on the linkspan and at times beneath it in a small workboat. It is anticipated the inspection will be completed within one day.
The consultant’s supervisor will liaise with the Port Manager and Masters of the Caledonian MacBrayne ferries to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services. VHF channel 16 will also be monitored.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Gourock Ferry Terminal are advised to maintain a look-out for the workboat, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
