Mariners are advised that an inspection of the linkspan at Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal, Firth of Clyde will be undertaken today.
CMAL’s consulting engineers CH2M will be operating both on the linkspan and at times beneath it in a small workboat. It is anticipated the inspection will be completed within one day.
The consultant’s supervisor will liaise with the Port Manager and Masters of the Caledonian MacBrayne ferries to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services. VHF channel 12 and 16 will also be monitored.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal are advised to maintain a look-out for the workboat, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
