LOCHBOISDALE LINKSPAN REPAIRS COMPLETED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Essential repair works on the linkspan at Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal have been completed ahead of schedule on 7 October.

The linkspan was closed on 24 September to enable safety critical works to replace the wire lifting ropes on the linkspan.  Specialist engineers Napier Bros. Engineers Ltd has load tested the linkspan allowing it to be recertified for its safe working load of 120T.

Engineers will remain on site for the week commencing 10 October to monitor the linkspan in service and undertake any necessary fine-tuning of the equipment as required.
