Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) is planning to launch its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) ferry on the Clyde on Tuesday 21st November 2017.

The ferry, MV Glen Sannox, is one of two currently being built at Ferguson Marine Engineering Limited’s (FMEL) shipyard in Port Glasgow.  The 102-metre vessel is earmarked for the Ardrossan to Arran route.

Kevin Hobbs, chief executive at CMAL said:

“Progress continues on the vessel at the shipyard and over the coming weeks we will work with the team at FMEL to make plans for the vessel’s launch.”

Further details of the launch will be agreed in due course.
