Mariners are advised that Alchemy Ltd have been contracted to undertake repairs to the fabriform mattress at the ferry berthing structure, Lochaline Ferry Terminal, Morvern.

Weather permitting works will commence this evening, Saturday 13th December 2014 and will continue until a cancellation NTM is issued.

All operations will be undertaken during night-time after the final sailing of the scheduled ferry service and will conclude each day prior to the service recommencing.

Equipment will include the use of the work boat ‘Dorus Mhor’ to support construction and diving operations.

Dive contractors CCD Ltd will be operating from the slipway with a safety boat in attendance.

At all times operational working areas will be appropriately marked using an illuminated Flag A “Diving Operations” or display of the appropriate navigation lights.

The dive supervisor will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16 and liaise with the Port Manager and skippers of the Lochaline Ferry to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Lochaline Ferry Terminal are advised to exercise vigilance and pass at minimum safe manoeuvring speed and sufficient distance from the indicated dive and works area to reduce the risk of damage or injury being caused by the passing vessel’s wash or displacement.
