Complete 50/15

Mariners are advised contractor Lanarkshire Welding Company Limited is undertaking maintenance and repair works to Gourock Ferry Terminal linkspan.

Weather permitting, works are programmed to commence on Monday 14th September 2015 and are planned to conclude within 5 days.

The works will be undertaken from the shore side with a small safety boat in attendance which may on occasion be beneath the structure.

The works supervisor will liaise with the port manager and skippers of the Argyll and Kilcreggan ferries to ensure there is no disruption to service. VHF channels 12 and 16 will also be monitored.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Gourock Ferry Terminal are advised to exercise vigilance and pass at minimum safe manoeuvring speed and sufficient distance from the area of works to reduce the risk of damage or injury being caused by the passing vessel’s wash or displacement. Owners and operators of high speed vessels should be particularly vigilant regarding their speed and the wash that can be created.
