Mariners are advised that from Monday 4th May 2015, Alchemy Plant & Contracting Ltd will be undertaking works to refurbish and improve fendering on the Fish Quay berthing area at Port Ellen Ferry Terminal, Islay.

Works are programmed to last approximately 3-weeks.

Most works will be undertaken on the surface from a workboat and the quayside but during this time there may also be a requirement to use divers.

Mariners should be aware that as works progress there will be periods when sections of quayside may not be available for berthing and should contact CalMac harbour office (tel: 01496 302641) for guidance.

Should diving operations be required the dive team supervisor will liaise with the harbour manager, ensure Flag A is prominently displayed at all times while divers are in the water and will monitor VHF channel 16. The dive operation will not impact on scheduled ferry operations.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Port Ellen Ferry Terminal inner harbour area are advised to do so with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly and to remain clear of any on-going works.
