CMAL has issued a tender for the demolition of a redundant warehouse building at Gourock following the completion of ecology surveys, the securing of necessary consents, and the preparation of the required technical documentation.

Subject to the successful award of a contract, demolition works are expected to commence in October 2026 and be completed by January 2027.

A traffic management plan will be implemented during the demolition works due to the site’s proximity to the access road and pedestrian walkway. This is likely to include temporary traffic lights and a one-way traffic system, with final arrangements to be agreed in conjunction with the appointed contractor.

The works are not expected to impact CalMac ferry services or operating timetables.

Further information will be made available once a contractor has been appointed and the demolition programme has been finalised.
