Complete 73/14

Mariners are advised that contractors Raynesway Construction Ltd will be conducting an inspection of Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal pier structure on Tuesday 18th November 2014.

The inspection will be undertaken from a small workboat which will operate around and under the structure. The activities of the workboat will be supported and coordinated by MV Coastrunner.

The skipper of MV Coastrunner will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16 and will liaise with the port manager and Masters of the CalMac ferries to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal are advised to exercise vigilance and pass at minimum safe manoeuvring speed and sufficient distance from the terminal pier to reduce the risk of damage or injury being caused by the passing vessel’s wash or displacement. Owners and operators of high speed vessels should be particularly vigilant regarding their speed and the wash that can be created.
