Mariners are advised that weather permitting, a structural survey of Scalasaig Pier, Isle of Colonsay will be undertaken between 15th and 18th February 2026.
The works will include both surface and underwater dive inspections of the pier roundhead fenders, north and south berths. When divers are in the water their presence will be indicated by an A-flag, at which time that area of pier or berthing area will be closed to all vessels. Port staff and the dive contractor will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16.
A small workboat will also be in operation to support the divers and the fender inspection.
The survey should not impact on the scheduled ferry service and all vessels are advised to call Colonsay Harbour on VHF not less than 20 minutes prior to arrival to ensure divers are clear of the water.
Mariners navigating in the vicinity of Scalasaig Pier during this time are requested to do so with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash.
Unless otherwise promulgated, if the NTM is still marked as ‘Active’ it is still in force.
