Mariners are advised that reconstruction of the ferry slipways and marshalling areas at Colintraive and Rhubodach Ferry Slipway, Kyles of Bute remain ongoing. Weather permitting planned construction works will conclude in March 2018.

During this time, scheduled ferry services will continue operation however, all vessels should be aware that during marine construction, works will extend to seaward beyond the limits of the present slipways. The seaward extremities of such work areas will be appropriately marked by temporary installation of special mark poles with flashing yellow lights thereon.

A safety boat will be in attendance and when required works will also involve commercial diving projects.

The contractor’s supervisor and any dive supervisor will liaise with the CalMac Harbour Manager and ferry Masters and will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16. At all relevant times Flag A will be displayed.

During the period of works mariners navigating near to Colintraive or Rhubodach Ferry Slipways are advised to maintain a look-out for workboats and any A Flag being displayed, maintain a safe distance and pass at minimum speed to reduce vessel wash.
