With reference to NTM 09/21, mariners are advised of works to remove three temporary piles and fendering from the new pier under construction at Tarbert Ferry Terminal Pier, East Loch Tarbert, Isle of Harris.
Weather permitting works are scheduled to commence on 07 December 2021 and be completed by 23 December.
Contractors will be working from the pier deck using a crane and supported as required by diving operations and the workboat ‘C-Odyssey’.
During the works scheduled ferry services will continue operation. The works supervisor will ensure VHF Channels 12 and 16 are monitored and liaise with the Port Manager and Master of the CalMac Ferry to ensure there is no disruption to the service.
Pier access by other vessels remains restricted and only permitted by prior arrangement with the CalMac Ferries Ltd Port Manager in liaison with the works supervisor.
During this time mariners navigating near to Tarbert Ferry Terminal Pier are advised to maintain a look-out for the workboat and any A Flag that will be displayed to indicate that dive works are being carried out. Vessels are requested to maintain a safe distance and pass at minimum speed to reduce wash.
