NTM 18/26 Lochaline Bathymetric Survey and Sediment Sampling

BATHYMETRIC SURVEY + SEDIMENT SAMPLING
Mariners are advised that on 27 May 2026, surveyors Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys will commence a bathymetric survey and sediment sampling in and around the area of Lochaline ferry terminal and surround SHA using the survey vessel Coastal Sensor 2.
There are 3 locations, close to Lochaline Pier, for sediment sampling shown below
The work is expected to take one week, weather permitting.
Communication will be maintained with CalMac Ferries Ltd, and others as required, via VHF radio throughout all survey works. The survey will be completed between sailings of the scheduled ferry services to avoid any disruption.
Mariners navigating in the vicinity of Lochaline during this time are requested to do so with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash.
Unless otherwise promulgated, if the NTM is still marked as ‘Active’ it is still in force.
