Mariners are advised that contractors RJ MacLeod Ltd are continuing reconstruction of Tarbert Ferry Terminal and inner harbour area, Isle of Harris. Works remain on schedule to continue for about another 10 months.

During the reconstruction scheduled ferry services will continue operation however, pier access by other vessels will be restricted and only permitted by prior arrangement with the CalMac Ferries Ltd Port Manager in liaison with the works supervisor.

Mariners navigating near to Tarbert Ferry Terminal Pier during this time are also advised to maintain a look-out for workboats and any A Flag that will be displayed to indicate that dive works are being carried out. Vessels are requested to maintain a safe distance and pass at minimum speed to reduce wash.

During any marine or diving works the supervisor will ensure VHF Channels 12 and 16 are monitored and will liaise with the Port Manager and Master of the CalMac Ferry to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services.

As works progress additional information will be issued to mariners in subsequent NTM updates.
