NTM 58/22 Demolition of Brodick Old Pier Update – Submerged Structure
Mariners are advised that the demolition of Brodick Old Pier, Brodick Bay, Isle of Arran is not yet complete and some of the pier remains standing on the bottom. Works have been stood down for the winter and as the remaining submerged structure could be a hazard to vessels its location will be marked by repositioning the three lit special mark buoys that had previously been used to indicate the extent of the working area for vessels supporting the works.
Weather permitting, on or about 22 December 2022 the buoys will be lifted and relocated to the sanctioned positions stated below. Works will be undertaken by the tug ‘Coastworker’.
Please note the buoys will established on the seaward side of the submerged structure marking its extents to east – west and north. Mariners should not navigate the waters inshore of these buoys.
The special mark buoys have been granted a statutory sanction and details are as follows.
