Mariners are advised that on 17 December 2021 works will commence to improve the fendering on the Kerrera Ferry Slipway Breakwater, Sound of Kerrera.

Works are scheduled to be completed within 1-week and will be undertaken from the breakwater structure supported by the workboat Dorus Mhor and a small safety boat.

The workboat master will maintain VHF communication on channel 16 and liaise with ferry skippers and the local port manager to ensure there is no disruption to timetabled ferry services.

Mariners navigating through Sound of Kerrera channel during this time are requested to do so with caution, regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash and stay well clear of the workboat and refrain from berthing on the structure in the vicinity of any ongoing works.
