NTM 33/21 Colonsay Pier and Fender Repairs Update

Mariners are advised that works to repair the pier and fenders at Colonsay Ferry Terminal Pier, Scalasaig, Isle of Colonsay remain ongoing and are scheduled to continue until the end of June 2021.

While works are being undertaken from the pier deck and from below using temporary scaffolding, they will also involve a diving project that will commence today and operate daily for the next 8-weeks.

A safety boat will be in attendance and VHF channel 16 will be monitored. An A-flag will always be displayed when divers are in the water

Other than for scheduled ferry operations the pier structure remains closed to unauthorised berthing by all vessels.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Colonsay Ferry Terminal during this time are requested to proceed with caution, maintain a lookout for the contractors and safety boat that at times may be out of sight beneath the structure, and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.

This NTM replaces NTM 06/21 which is now cancelled.
