NTM 24/21 Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal Pier Inspection

Mariners are advised that an inspection and concrete testing of Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal Pier, South Uist will be undertaken from 20 March 2021. Weather permitting, the work should be completed within 5-days.

At times the works will be conducted beneath the pier using rope access when the contractor may be out of sight to other harbour users. A safety boat will be in attendance

While there will be no disruption to scheduled ferry services, to ensure the safety of the contractor mariners are advised that Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal pier will be closed to access by all other vessels including non-scheduled ferries, between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 during this inspection period.

Mariners navigating near to Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal at this time are requested to do so with caution, regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash and stay well clear of the structure or the safety boat.
