Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) has announced Christopher Wheeler as the new chair of the CalMac Pension Fund. Mr Wheeler succeeds Grenville Johnson who has stepped down as chair and a trustee of the pension board after 13 years.

Christopher Wheeler joined the trustee board of the CalMac Pension Fund in September 2018 as the CMAL pension trustee, and took up the role of chair on 1 January 2021. He will be replaced by Brian Fulton, who joins CMAL on 11 January 2021 as its new head of business support.

Mr. Wheeler said:

“I look forward to taking on the responsibility of chair and continuing the professional and collaborative relationship we have between the trustees, the principal employers and our advisors.”

Grenville Johnson joined the CalMac Pension Fund Board in April 2007 and assumed the role of chair in August 2014. He said:

“I have enjoyed my time as a trustee and chair, and contributing the well-being of the fund. I have made good friends with my fellow trustees and the staff of AON, our fund managers. I wish everyone the best of good fortune in 2021.”
