Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) owns the ferries, ports and harbours necessary for vital ferry services serving the West Coast of Scotland and the Clyde Estuary. We aim to provide efficient, cost effective and safe vessels, harbours and associated port infrastructure for operators, communities and users in and around Scotland.
Reporting to the Financial Controller this is a training role where the primary tasks of this post are to assist in all aspects of accounting for the company which will involve processing accounting transactions up to the preparation of draft management accounts. In return the company will provide study support for the Finance Assistant to become a qualified accountant. (ACCA/CA)
The person will have a keen interest in Finance and will ideally have some accounting work experience. The person will be educated to degree level in an accounting related subject.
The role will require organisation and communication skills and the ability to process and prepare accounting information for the company.
There may be a requirement for occasional weekend and evening work and for travel both within Scotland and abroad.
This role is a Grade D with a starting salary of around £21,000 per annum. Benefits include a final salary pension scheme, life assurance, healthcare and concessionary travel on Calmac Ferries.
