Oban South Pier Planning Study

CMAL and Argyll & Bute Council have commissioned consultants URS Scott Wilson to undertake a Feasibility Study, considering options for development around the South Pier at Oban. 

The objective of the study is to identify a long term master plan for the area, taking account of stakeholders requirements; CMAL’s long term plans for replacement of  number 1 linkspan& modificationsto the Lismore Ferry Slipway; and the development of the South Pier as a dedicated fishing berth, feeding into Argyll & Bute Council’s CHORD programme.

Consultation and workshops withstakeholders including CalMac Ferries Ltd, RNLI, NLB and Oban Port Users have been arranged for key stages of the study, which is due for completion in early 2012.

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited announce plans for Stornoway to Ullapool route

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) has today (8th June) announced that Lloyds Banking Group plc (LBG) are to provide financing for a replacement vessel for the Stornoway to Ullapool route and has named Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft MBH & Co. KG (FSG), Germany as the preferred shipyard for the detailed design and construction of the vessel.

NTM 26/12: Pier and Linkspan Repair Works - Tarbert Ferry Terminal, Harris

Complete   Mariners are advised that CMAL have appointed Arch Henderson to carry out maintenance and repair works to the pier and linkspan facilities at Tarbert Ferry Terminal, Harris. The works will commence on Wednesday 9th May 2012 and are programmed to last 12-weeks.

Isle of Coll Moorings Update

CMAL are pleased to announce that following their continued investment in harbour development in support of island and rural communities, the number of visitor moorings provided for small vessels visiting Loch Eatharna, Arinagour, Isle of Coll have been increased to 12.
