NTM 21/12: Pier Structure Survey Largs Ferry Terminal, Firth of Clyde

Mariners are advised that CMAL have appointed Arch Henderson as consultant to undertake a structural survey of Largs Pier.
Oban South Pier Planning Study
CMAL and Argyll & Bute Council have commissioned consultants URS Scott Wilson to undertake a Feasibility Study, considering options for development around the South Pier at Oban.
The objective of the study is to identify a long term master plan for the area, taking account of stakeholders requirements; CMAL’s long term plans for replacement of number 1 linkspan& modificationsto the Lismore Ferry Slipway; and the development of the South Pier as a dedicated fishing berth, feeding into Argyll & Bute Council’s CHORD programme.
Consultation and workshops withstakeholders including CalMac Ferries Ltd, RNLI, NLB and Oban Port Users have been arranged for key stages of the study, which is due for completion in early 2012.

NTM 20/12: Port Ellen, Islay - Reinstatement of Navigation Mark

Complete Mariners are advised that the starboard hand navigation mark indicating the shoal area to the south of Port Ellen Ferry Terminal, Islay which was temporarily removed to facilitate dredging works has now been reinstated.
