CMAL announce updates on Port Ellen Pier Reconstruction

Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) is delighted to announce that the contract for the reconstruction of Port Ellen pier has been awarded to McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd (McL&H). The reconstruction will replace the existing pier which is reaching the end of its serviceable life. The new pier has been designed to provide improved berthing facilities and will accommodate the new vessel MV FINLAGGAN, which is due to commence on the Islay route in spring 2011.

The Caledonian Maritime Assets (Port Ellen) Harbour Revision Order 201(X)

Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) has been developing long term plans for harbour improvements at Port Ellen for some time in consultation with the local community, community groups and interested businesses. In order to progress the long term plans CMAL are required to apply to Scottish Government for a Harbour Revision Order (HRO). This is the planning approval process for marine works. CMAL announce contract for Kennacraig Pier upgrade project

CMAL has today announced that the contract for the Kennacraig Pier upgrade project has been awarded to Graham Construction. The £3.44M contract was awarded following a Public Contracts Scotland tendering process and will predominantly comprise of the construction of a new berthing dolphin to accommodate the new vessel MV Finlaggan which is due in Scotland in April 2011.
