Following a detailed assessment of ferry provision on the key Stornoway-Ullapool route, Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL), along with colleagues from CalMac Ferries and Scottish Government presented their findings at a public meeting this evening, to enable residents of Lewis and Harris to hear firsthand about future plans for this service.

Latest photos from the build of MV Finlaggan, which is due for arrival in Scotland in May 2011. They show the ships exterior, and also the load trials with 72 tonnes of steel on the bow ramp.

Work in continuing at pace on MV Finlaggan. The vessel has now entered drydock to receive a final coat of paint and commissioning of the stabiliser system. This will take around six days. On return to the fitting out berth, load trials...

After consultation with the Scottish Government and CalMac Ferries Ltd, Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), has determined that their vessel, MV Juno, will be sent for recycling in accordance with the UK ship recycling strategy.
