Update on restricted access at Oban Pier

Voting opens on the shortlist to name the world's first sea going hybrid ferry

Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) has announced the shortlist of names entered into the competition to name the world's first sea going Roll On Roll Off vehicle and passenger diesel electric hybrid ferry, currently being built in Port Glasgow.

Port Ellen Pier Reconstruction complete

13 July 2012

The reconstruction of Port Ellen pier was successfully completed in June 2012, with the pier re-opening to ferry traffic on 01 July 2012. The challenging project was undertaken by contractors McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd, with professional engineering services provided by Halcrow Group Ltd.

NTM 35/12: Port Ellen, Islay - Re-opening of Ferry Terminal Pier

Active   Mariners are advised that all major works at Port Ellen Ferry Terminal, Islay have now been completed and the terminal and pier will be fully opened to all ferry and commercial operations from 0700hrs on Sunday 1st July 2012.
