MV LOCH SEAFORTH Latest Update

Following negotiations in Germany last week, CMAL now has overall control of the MV LOCH SEAFORTH and she will not be impacted by negotiations over the future acquisition of FSG. Work continues in the yard on final fitting out and preparation of systems for handover to Calmac Ferries. The ship will be sailing to Scotland in the next few weeks.

MV LOCH SEAFORTH News Update

10 October 2014

Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft MBH and Co KG shipyard (FSG) is currently the subject of an acquisition that is due to complete later this month, however the work on the MV LOCH SEAFORTH is nearing completion and is not expected to be impacted. A team from CMAL is in Germany overseeing the final elements of the build and are currently in discussions with FSG on the handover of the vessel. The date will be confirmed as soon as is available later this month.

Third hybrid ferry to be built

Closure of pier at Wemyss Bay in February 2015

Wemyss Bay harbour will undergo significant investment to secure a safe, efficient and reliable service to Rothesay. As part of this investment, the Wemyss Bay ferry terminal will be closed for 16 weeks from early February 2015 to late May 2015 to enable essential work to be undertaken to replace the pier fenders (the section of the pier that the ferries berth against). In addition, the vehicle linkspan will be refurbished and repairs made to the pier concrete deck.
