CMAL has announced that work to rebuild Largs Pier will get underway on Monday, 27th October, as contractor George Leslie Ltd arrives on site for the £6M project. Largs Pier will now be closed until completion of the project in early July 2009 but ferry services will continue to operate as timetabled and the Terminal Building will remain open and unaffected by the work.

MVA Consultancy has been appointed to work with local communities and stakeholders after CMAL was instructed by the Scottish Government to commission a STAG appraisal to review access options for Stornoway – Ullapool. Now that the tendering process is complete and consultants are in place, a more detailed project plan will be prepared and suitable consultation meetings with all stakeholders will be organised.
