The build of the world's first sea going Roll On Roll Off vehicle and passenger diesel electric hybrid ferries began today (Monday 30th January), with the cutting of the first steel at Ferguson Shipyard.

Further to NTM 02/11, mariners are advised that the pier reconstruction works at Port Ellen Ferry Terminal, Isle of Islay, are due to continue until Spring 2012.

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) is delighted to announce that it has been awarded £450,000 for the Hybrid Ferries Project from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
