Mariners are advised that CMAL have appointed NRS Group Ltd (NRS) to carry out upgrade
works at various sections of the Railway Pier at Oban Ferry Terminal.
The repair works will commence on Wednesday 21st September 2011 and are programmed
to be complete by the end of November 2011.
The works consist entirely of shore based activities, such as repaving the area to the north
east of the terminal building towards Station Square and installing shore power bollards and
lighting along the “fishing quays” on the Railway Pier.
Despite the works being based entirely on the quayside, the contractor will take possession
of up to one third of the fishing quay at a time to allow them to work up to quay edge.
During this time, vessels will not be allowed to berth within the contractor’s possession area.
All areas of possession will be clearly marked and mariners MUST liaise with the CalMac
Ferries Ltd Pier Masters when using the pier.
