Mariners are advised that CMAL have appointed LB Marine Ltd to carry out repair works to the roundhead section at the seaward end of Coll Ferry Terminal pier.
The repair works will commence on Monday 18th June 2012 and are programmed to last 4-weeks.
Works will consist of repairs to concrete and replacement of fendering, works being undertaken predominantly from the pier deck utilising a rotating telehandler however, dependent upon tidal conditions mariners should be aware there may be a requirement to utilise divers.
Should divers be required all operational working areas where diving activities are being undertaken will at all times be appropriately marked utilising Flag A “Diving Operations” and the Dive Team Supervisor must monitor VHF Channel 16. A dive support vessel/safety boat will be on site.
All works will be undertaken between arrivals of the scheduled ferry services causing no disruption to the service. At this time it is the intention to conduct all works operations as day-shifts only for the duration of the project.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Coll Ferry Terminal must do so with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly. Vessels berthing must do so with care and if diving operations are on-going, contact the Dive Team Supervisor on VHF Channel 16 to ensure all divers are clear of the water if required.
